Update: Riley Leonard is expected to be out tonight. We like looking at Noah Fifita in place of him at a similar price.
Stacks: Wash St., UNC, TTU
Optimal Plays
QBs: Ward, Leonard, Morton
RBs: Brooks, Diggs, Coleman, Chaney
WRs: Cowing, Kelly, Williams, George
This is one of the best night slates we’ve had all year. It’s filled with fun choices at QB, and a ton of upside.
Cam Ward jumps at us right away. He is priced at 9.1k, yet is projected to score in the top two among QB in DK points. He has the highest PT/$ on the slate among QBs at 3.6. Ward airs it out over 36 times per game, and also has 3 rushing TDs this season. Ward is a fantastic option on this Saturday night for all contests.
All signs point to Riley Leonard being back for this game, and he projects well. Leonard is projected to score very well while being priced at only 7.2k. He’s mobile, making him an excellent play without any of his receivers. Leonard is a great QB option in all contests.
Behren Morton is another great option tonight. He is priced at 6.3k, and has a 3.2 PT/$. He’s got a great game script here, and is excellent value. We love Morton as an option at QB here in any format.
For GPPs, Drake Maye is priced above Ward, and will likely be underowned given the fact that he’s projected to score 5 less points. This is a great leverage spot for upside though, and Maye has excellent stacking options. Maye hasn’t yet shown his massive upside this year, and at this point in the season it’s possible people are forgetting how high his ceiling is. It’s rumored that Miami wants to focus on stopping UNC’s running game, so Maye could be in store for a monster outing. Consider him a great GPP option.
Tyler Van Dyke is another great option for GPPs, except this time we get some value. He’s priced at only 6.2k here, with major upside in his stacks. With Miami being underdogs, this is a nice spot for him to air it out. You can also go really bold in GPPs and pair him with Drake. It’s tough to fade all the optimal QBs, but if this game shoots out then you could have the winning game stack.
Another Saturday night, another Tahj Brooks sighting. His role is just too much to ignore right now, and he’s projecting as the top RB yet again. He has a 3.6 PT/$ and is projected to score 22 DK points. We like Brooks in any contest this evening and don’t think you should start fading him now.
Logan Diggs is on our radar heavily at the RB position. He’s gotten HUGE work lately, with 19-24 carries in his past two games, and is only $6,200. Diggs is one of our favorite options at RB on this night slate.
We have excellent value in Jonah Coleman here at the RB position. He had 21 carries last week, and 4 targets. He seems to have seized the lead RB role for the Wildcats at this point. He is projected to be RB6 in scoring, despite being priced as RB13. Coleman is a great option in any lineup this evening.
Donald Chaney projects well this evening with 11 points. At a price of only 3.9k, this makes Chaney one of the best values at the RB position. He saw a huge workload last weekend of 24 carries. While 24 carries might be wishful thinking in this game, he still seems in line for 10+ touches in a game in which the Hurricanes have an implied total of 27 points. If you want to go with a value RB, he’s definitely the best option.
In GPPs, Audric Estime is our favorite upside play. Estime has run for 692-7 this season, with TDs in all but two games. USC has shown some holes on defense, which is perfect for a splash-play runner like Estime. This is a solid option for leverage on this night slate.
At WR, Jacob Cowing is one of our favorite WR on this slate. He is projected 24 points, which is good for a 3.4 PT/$. He has 12+ targets in each of his last five games, and has scored 7 TD in that span. Cowing is a great way to start your lineups at WR.
Josh Kelly is projected to be among the top scorers, yet is only 6.1k. Kelly has 8+ targets in each of his past three games, and an aDoT above 11. He makes for a fantastic option at WR this evening in all lineups.
Sticking with Washington State, Kyle Williams is also an excellent option here. He is projected 21 points, and is priced reasonably at 5.6k. Due to their excellent pricing, you can use both Kelly and Williams in any lineups this evening.
Jacolby George provides us with tremendous value at WR this evening. He is 4k, with a point projection of 14! He has gotten 5+ targets in every game this season, and ranks second on Miami in targets. We love George’s value here at WR if you want to pay down.
Lastly, we love Devontez Walker in GPPs this evening. He took last week to get his feet back under him, and now is listed as a starter for the Tar Heels. Walker is a big play threat and can really stretch the field for UNC. We think he’ll open up this offense more and makes for a great stack with Maye for GPP leverage.
Conclusion: Cam Ward, Riley Leonard, and Behren Morton make up our favorite QBs to choose from here. Ward is projected to score among the top on the slate, despite being 9.1k. Leonard and Morton are excellent value, and allow you to pay up at other positions should you choose to do so. There are a ton of upside QBs that you can stack on this slate, so be sure to consult the projections for all the options, but our favorite GPP QBs are both in the UNC/Miami game! At RB, we love Tahj Brooks yet again. He’s an insane value at his workload. We also like Logan Diggs, Jonah Coleman, and Donald Chaney as the best options to round out the RB corps. Jacob Cowing, Josh Kelly, Kyle Williams, and Jacolby George make up our favorite WRs this evening with Walker being a great stacking option if you use Maye. Cowing’s projected points are just below the top priced WR, but Cowing is 1.8k cheaper. He’s our favorite WR option on this slate. Kelly and Williams are underpriced for their workload, and George is an excellent value option this evening. This is a deep slate, so be sure to check out projections, and head to Discord with any questions!
