Merrill Kelly has been getting hit hard by both lefties and righties lately, and that’s a dangerous profile against a Washington offense that has been producing quality contact consistently. The Nationals lineup has more depth than it gets credit for and is capable of putting pressure on pitchers throughout the order. On the other side, Foster Griffin hasn’t been dominant, but Arizona’s lineup is much more top-heavy than people realize. Beyond stars like Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte, there isn’t nearly the same level of offensive depth.
