The Bills broke our hearts and punished us for planning ahead with our secondary path. We would’ve been better off to just full send Seattle with half the field. At least our primary path lives on through 7 games.
I expect us to go 2-0 this week on both paths. I think the optimal path is the Chargers, but the Ravens are so close that I’m not gonna sit here and tell you there’s a clear optimal this week. What I can tell you is that these are clearly the best two teams to use. Other people will try their luck again with small favorites, but it’s too early to be doing that. As we’ve seen with teams losing their QBs, a team you thought would be -150 in two weeks could easily end up being -300 and now they’re optimal. You don’t need to save 2-4 teams like the Chargers. Just play the best plays. And that’s why the Chargers are my preference because they are clearly the weaker squad to have in your back pocket. However, it’s just a slight preference because they have much easier opponents in the future, and the Ravens schedule is quite difficult other than a couple matchups.
One thing is clear: The Chargers and Ravens are both at their peak value this week, and neither is likely to be very useful to us for a long time, barring unforeseen injuries to their opponent’s QBs. Interestingly enough, whichever team you choose to save now is probably the team you’ll use in Week 14. That’s when I project both of these teams to be most valuable again. My plan this week is to go half and half with my entries, but if you’re down to one entry I’d say choose whoever you like more. For me, that’s the Chargers, but I wouldn’t fault you at all for going Ravens if you’re uncomfortable risking it all on a 2-4 team.
